I write about the evil spirits that control you and about the fictional characters that other authors “create.” I write to make the stage called Earth profoundly aware that we’re more than conquerors.”

Diana Broomfield says, “Tabitha Vinson brings a new prospective and workable exercises to help you on your spiritual path. This is an easy read you will return to again and again.”

Chris Jasper

Chris JasperWe couldn’t think of a better person to spend time with on the show of Conversation 2015. We had the pleasure of speaking with and getting to know R&B Icon Chris Jasper.

If you are familiar with THE ISLEY BROTHERS, then you have heard the music of CHRIS JASPER, who was primarily responsible for writing and producing all of THE ISLEY BROTHERS music during this time, including such beautiful love songs as “For The Love of You” and “Between the Sheets” and uptempo funk such as “Fight the Power.” His arrangements and instrumentation as a classically-trained musician, and his expertise on the keyboards and synthesizers, are the foundation of the legendary “Isley Brothers Sound.” When the six members of THE ISLEY BROTHERS disbanded (1984), Marvin and Ernie Isley joined CHRIS JASPER and formed ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY. Without this crucial musical component, THE ISLEY BROTHERS were no longer a self-produced, self-contained group.

CHRIS JASPER brought his “unique sound” and musical talents to ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY, and topped the charts singing lead vocals on “Caravan of Love” (1985), a song that was covered by English recording group, the Housemartins, an international #1 pop hit. “Caravan” was also used in commercials as part of a Dodge Caravan advertising campaign. He was also awarded a CEBA Award For Excellence for a Miller Brewing Company commercial. The music for that commercial formed the basis for “Brother to Brother” from the “Different Drummer” album, which supported the anti-apartheid struggle going on in South Africa at that time. His music has also been used in radio and television commercials, most recently “Who’s That Lady” (Swiffer) and “Between The Sheets” (L’Oreal).

When ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY disbanded (1987), CHRIS JASPER brought his “unique sound” to his own solo projects, topping the charts with “SuperBad,” a song promoting the value of education. CHRIS JASPER has continued to write songs and produce his own R&B/Gospel music, as well as other artists, for his independent record label, Gold City Records (www.goldcitymusic.com).

Everything In Its Time

This is a statement of how I am feeling right now. I am so grateful to God  for grace and mercy. I just have to take a pause and thank Him. I see how far he’s brought me . Only I can know where my journey has brought me from, God knows the path I am traveling, I will continue to let Him and His Son, and the Holy Spirit guide me and I will continue to follow their  lead as to which move I need to make when. Doing so has not failed me so far. Hallelujah!

God won't Fail

Of course, I am so anxious to get started providing services to children. I really wanted to be ready to start at least for limited hours through out the summer with at least Dance and Piano lessons, Of course, everything happens as it is supposed to, according to His will on His timetable. This walk is certainly teaching me this lesson. I have no doubt it will all happen as God has shown me,  I am like a kid waiting for Christmas. I must be patient. I know there are still things to do and people to put in place and so I have to take a step back and let my Father do his thing.

Even as I am writing this blog, The Spirit  has brought to my remembrance, the childhood friend I ran into a year ago. I stopped to give him a call before it got too late and look at God! I might have a viable space to hold charity events to benefit Children’s World of Music. I have a meeting next week with the Dance Program Director and he just happens to be a great manager/promoter. I am feeling so much joy as I finish this entry. God is so good to me, even when I am going through, I am smiling. I smile because I am happy. I smile because I am glad. If his eye is on the  sparrow, then I know He watches me!

Twalla Jaye

I have a talented friend who has an Indie Record Label called Cirius Entertainment Group. When Markkii Notes contacted me about Ms. Twalla Jaye, I fell in  love with her voice and had to book her on Conversations. I must say, she is as real and down to earth as she sounded singing Fortify Me, a gospel song and her first single release.

Twalla B&W

Twalla Jaye hails from Hopkins, South Carolina where she sang in her church choir, the church where her grandfather, presided. She began performing backup vocals professionally at 14 years old. Ultimately, she wants to reach more than just her fellow Christians and gospel fans; She wants her gift to be heard and spread through the masses.

walla singing in the church choir afforded her the opportunity to perform at the McDonalds Series in 2011, at the Township Auditorium in Columbia SC, where her choir was chosen out of a group of over thirty choirs to perform with Dr. Paul Morton. She has also had the opportunity to work with Blanche Mcallister Dykes of the ‘Tri City Singers’. Twalla is no stranger to the stage or performing solo. She has also performed at ‘Family Fest 2011’, Jazz Fest 2011, and the Annual McDonalds Choir Showcase 2011. Twalla currently showcases her skills weekly as the director of the Grace Church Choir.

When she visited Conversations, she shared the inspiration for the song, Stop Playing Games, she is truly a woman reborn and we like her. We think you will too.  Take a listen to the interview and then go buy her music, you really need to have it in your collection.

Use Me

I love music, I love Indie Artists and I especially love Talented  Indies I can claim  as “Homies”. One such person is Veronique. She is not only talented but anointed.

Veronique-1

Her music is her ministry. God blessed her with not just the voice and melodies, but the ability to minister and console with her music. I had been a fan before I had the privilege of meeting her in person, since then my admiration has only grown, She is a soft spoken, God fearing woman filled with love. She makes you feel like you’ve met an old friend.  She is supportive of her fellow Artists and loves her fans. veronique2 Her song Use Me is one of my favorites by her, and after she explained how it came to be, as many of her songs do, I am even more appreciative of it and her, as well as her awesome talent. Veronique remains a humble and thankful Artists. She knows where her talent comes from and uses it to inspire us.  I invite you to have a listen to the recent interview and then, I personally make a request that you add her music to your collection if you have not yet done so, and be on the look out for her newest project. Follow her on TwitterFacebook, and You tube.  You can find her music for purchase at CD Baby. We know you will want to keep her encouraged to keep doing the thing called Music!
